The short answer: If you live in Japan and are considering Y!mobile, check your identity documents, the address on those documents, and your payment method before applying.
1. Check your documents
Y!mobile lists accepted documents such as a My Number card, Japanese driving licence, residence card and special permanent resident certificate. The required combination depends on your situation. Read the official identity-verification guide.
2. Check your address and verification route
Some residence cards issued on or after 14 June 2026 cannot use app-based verification, and an address mismatch can also prevent that route. Check the current official instructions before submitting. This guide cannot confirm eligibility for you.
3. Check payment and the full cost
Y!mobile provides credit-card and bank-account options for monthly bills, with 3D Secure authentication for card payments. A foreign-issued card is not automatically confirmed as accepted. Check the official payment guide and keep basic charges, recurring discounts, device instalments and one-time rewards separate.
Choose your next step
When your documents, address and payment method fit the official conditions, continue to the official application terms. These links open Japanese-language pages. Confirm the plan, price and conditions before submitting.
